FOODPRINT, PIZZA, and the WATER CONNECTION?

Really? I don’t have it often, however pepperoni pizza has been known to cross my palate. And, because I am a subscriber to the FoodPrint Newsletter, I just became aware of this fact: One serving of pepperoni pizza uses 53 gallons of water!

Why should we care how much water we use by the choices we make for our daily intake of food? Well, one answer is to conserve water right?

Other reasons: Firefighters, hospitals, gas stations, street cleaners, health clubs, gyms, and restaurants all require large quantities of water to provide services to our communities. Reducing our usage of water now means that these services can continue to be provided.

JUST FYI – FAITH -Heart Health APP for African Americans

Those of you who follow the HairBlues blog, or have listened to my Wellness Connections podcast, are aware that I am an Open Heart Surgery survivor, now 27 years strong.

I am always on the lookout for information that I can share about the progress of heart health advancements.

There is no doubt that a good medical evaluation, and doctor can change your Life and really make a difference to a person who has been affected by heart health issues.

Research continues to be forthcoming, as is in the case of the FAITH App, (Fostering African American Improvement in Total Health), which I learned about recently. Let me be clear, Apps are NOT suggested to replace good medical advice. However, the FAITH app is good news worth sharing. In a study Mayo Clinic researchers evaluated the effectiveness of a culturally relevant mobile app designed to improve heart health among African Americans in faith communities.
